Fuel System
Today’s cars have an elaborate fuel delivery system to maximize performance while using as little fuel as possible. This system has very tight tolerances, and must be maintained to assure it’ll deliver fuel when your engine needs it. Whether your car uses a carburetor or a fuel-injection system, our ASE Certified Technicians can maintain your system, and troubleshoot any problems should they arise.
Radiator
Does your car run hot sometimes? The cooling system in your car is essential to the engine’s proper operation. A temperature gauge in excess of 250 degrees or steam from the hood of your car could both be signs that your car’s radiator is not functioning properly.
Steering
What good is a car without steering? Power steering fluid assists with the functionality of your vehicle’s steering capabilities, but can often times become contaminated. This can result in excessive noise, hard steering, leaks and even complete steering failure. Unfortunately, by the time symptoms appear, some damage has probably been done. This can result in very expensive repairs. We recommend flushing the power steering fluid every 37,500 miles to avoid costly repairs.
Suspension
Is your ride getting bouncy? It might be time to replace your shocks or struts. When these suspension essentials begin to go bad, you may also notice uneven or choppy tire wear or bouncing when you apply then release weight from the front bumper. Depending on the type of shocks and struts, they may also leak oil or air. The bouncing from failed shocks and struts could cause you to lose control of your vehicle, so don’t wait for this problem to go away, because it won’t.
Transmission
Regular transmission fluid flushes reduce the chance a very costly repair will be needed and the chance of an unexpected breakdown. Heat is the nemesis of transmission fluid – it causes the fluid to oxidize reducing the lubrication capacity which accelerates the wear on internal components. Manufacturers have engineered methods that reduce heat, but this fluid still gets extremely hot every time you drive. Flushing every 30,000 miles is usually sufficient.
Oil Change
Changing your car’s oil is not only a good idea, but necessary to avoid costly repairs. It not only reduces the risk of needing repairs, but also improves your car’s gas mileage. We recommend changing the oil and filter in your car’s engine every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Depending on the age of your vehicle, your oil change frequency may need to be higher, or you may need a higher quality oil.
